During the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the cultural and economic growth of the Far East, as well as Russia’s short-term and long-term objectives and challenges. In addressing the upcoming 2024 presidential election in the United States, Putin expressed his belief that Washington’s policy towards Moscow will remain unchanged, regardless of who is elected president. This statement alludes to the now-debunked claims of Trump-Russia collusion prior to the 2016 elections.
Putin remarked on the promises made by Mr. Trump, particularly regarding the resolution of pressing issues like the Ukrainian crisis, and expressed his satisfaction with such intentions. He also dismissed the accusations of Trump’s alleged ties to Moscow as complete nonsense. In Putin’s view, the prosecution of Trump is nothing more than political persecution of a political rival, which sheds light on the flaws within the American political system.
